We've been visiting my parents for five days and...
destroyed my glasses
frightened my parent’s 65 pound dog daily (she’s a whopping 12 pounds!)
peed and pooped everywhere imaginable (so much for house training)
found and emptied my jewelry bag… it’s still unknown whether anything is missing or not
convinced my little sister and mom she’s the cutest little angel ever
convinced my dad he never wants a puppy again

What?
Jasmine and I just tried the Goose’s treats. They weren’t bad!

The Goose
So Lucy has a new nickname. It all started by me calling her “Lucy Goosey” then “Lucy Goose”. Eventually I started calling her Goosey, then Goose. Now she has been affectionately named “The Goose” by my friend Jasmine who is visiting.
Somehow it fits!

Lucy and I have a hot date tonight! →
We’re meeting friends at Dog Bar… can’t wait!
Lucy hilariously is chasing one squeaky ball around with another in her mouth. She’ll go for the ball on the floor and lose the ball in the mouth, and start all over again. She just can’t figure it out. :)

I am so, SO happy I got Lucy. While having a puppy IS a lot of work (I’m definitely sacrificing sleep and some aspects of my social life) having a cute little animal who goes nuts whenever she sees you is SO worth it. She’s learning and growing so quickly, I know she’ll be an adult before I know it.
Adopting a dog is a wonderful choice as long as you’re ready to put in...
Lucy and I just ran around like maniacs in the yard for a good 20 minutes- now she’s chewing happily on a bone. I’m hoping she’ll conk out when Grey’s comes on, although she does have a thing for McSteamy…. ;)
The little monster destroyed a cell phone, a wireless mouse, and a heavy-duty rubber mat today at doggie day care. She’s a beast. :)
I’m home at lunch checking on Luc- she tried to do the biting thing, I was firm and forceful with the ‘No’ and mouth shut, and now she’s happily redirected her biting to a bone. Now I just have to figure out how to get her to still play with me, but without scarring my arm. :)
Advice Needed
Just in the past 24 hours or so Lucy has gotten really aggressive with her biting. If I give her any attention at all she attacks my hands, and when I start to walk away she chomps onto my pants and pulls/tears.
I have absolutely no idea what to do with her, but the behavior is freaking me out- I just want my nice little puppy back! Any tips on how to handle this??
Lucy and I just got back from a walk, and now she’s settled into her little bed intently watching ‘It’s Me of the Dog’ on Animal Planet.
The little monster LOVES Scooby Snacks… my dog is so cliche. :) I think these might be the secret to successful house training!
The little monster and I went to the vet today to get her next round of boosters. The shots didn’t phase her a bit, she just wanted more treats! She weighs a whopping 7.1 pounds (although thats quite a bit because her last weigh in was. 5.3!) and they said she looks good.
Right now she’s attempting to dig through her dog bed, in true puppy form. :)
Guess who slept in until 5:30 am and only had one accident in the apartment yesterday?? :)
She survived!
Lucy made it at home by herself allll day- I’m so relieved. The only minor problem- and I mean MINOR!!- was a destroyed toilet paper role. Definitely a rookie mistake on my part. She’s headed to doggie daycare tomorrow, then I’ll think we’ll be in a weekday routine.
The little monster gets to stay in the bathroom and not the crate today since I don’t get to come home during my planning period. Since she’s a little Houdini, I’m putting something heavy in front of the bathroom door.
Ah, the stress and worry of being a new mother… :) The good news is, she’s going to Doggy Daycare tomorrow!!
Shit
I just put the dog in her bed for the night, but I forgot that I hadn’t brushed my teeth or washed my face. Oh well, too late!
After Lucy’s great escape this afternoon, I’m going to try leaving her in the bathroom with the door closed. She can go in and out of her crate, have a little more room, but still be confined with minimal chance for damage (and more importantly harming herself)!
I also talked to a trainer at PetSmart tonight, and Lucy and I are going to take an 8 week class starting in March! I...
Puppy Adventures
Well I came back during my planning period to see how my little darling was doing, and she had seriously smeared poop ALL over the cage! I think she had done her business then spilled her water which created a HUGE mess! So I walked her for .5 second, cleaned the cage, played for a few minutes, then head back to school. I decided to leave the bathroom door open so she could get some fresh air.

Good news!
Lucy slept in her crate last night from 11:30 until 4:45. And, I think she would’ve slept longer if I hadn’t checked on her. Rookie mistake :) She onl cried for about 20 minutes before going to sleep for the night.
Now she’s napping after playing for awhile this morning. I’m getting ready to take her for a walk before putting her in her crate for the day while...
